My wide angle lens has been sent away for repair, so I am trying to make the most of my distance lens and compact camera. Have got some pretty good results, I think.
As you can see we have had a few very busy but photo-opportunistic weekends.
(Don't worry Tom, more photos of just you kayaking will follow soon)

Heading back to film?
I have finally given in after a couple of months and am going to get my smaller lens repaired, I really miss having autofocus. It is so frustrating to take photos, only to look at them on my laptop to find most are out of focus, due to the millimeters that I turned the lens.
I have also put more 35mm film into my old school camera, hoping for slightly better results this time round - camera is no good at all with close-ups! With going back to film, I once again find myself carefully thinking about what photos I want to take - only have 24 chances to get a good photo! With using film, you have to way up the price of film and the cost of processing it! Anyone know of anyone with a dark room?!
With using film, I keep thinking back to the camera that I once spotted in Urban Outfitters, a little like this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LOMOGRAPHY-ACTION-SAMPLER-BNWOB-35MM-CAMERA-LOMO-/400239609933?pt=UK_Film_Cameras&hash=item5d3023c84d
And I am now considering getting a cheap one, just to see the effects it could create or putting an out of date film into a 35mm camera.
I have recently been on holiday to Austria and decided to create a photo book with the better (I hope) photos that I have taken, I opted for a small book with a soft cover, to keep the prices down. Also had a £10 money off voucher, so I thought I might as well use it.

Photo publishing
I had a fantastic weekend away taking many photos in Weymouth and Portland. I shot some landscapes, action shots and photos that I will change into multiplicity pictures.
Now I am wondering where I can publish some of the better photographs. I have decided to no longer publish photographs on F'book after doing some research into who has the rights to the photos. I currently do not have my own website and find some other photo hosting websites thoroughly frustrating and upload limits constraining.
There are so many amateur photographers out there, that do not share with others the fantastic quality of the photos they are taking. There is no easy, fuss free and inexpensive way of doing this (please someone prove me wrong!) that I have found. Maybe it is time for another exhibition!

1 photo a day
I have decided to restart my Shuttercal project again. This is were I take a photograph everyday and then upload them to a calender style website. The last time I tried this project was back in November 2009 when I managed to get photos for everyday until February 2010.
I began my project again the other week and have so far managed to cheat once (I meant to take a photo one evening, completely forgot and took one the next month and published it as the night before), but since my one slip I have managed to keep things going.
I have been discussing this topic with an American friend of mine, who I discovered had also started her own calender project at the beginning of the year, she has managed to get through to March and then 'life got busy'. You definitely need dedication to see this project through for a year, most the time we walk around with some form of camera, either on our phones, or compact cameras or our SLRs, but the action of stopping to take a photo when life is hectic is the difficult part of it.
This project came up in conversation with Tom one evening as I took a photograph of a random plant. Currently I would like to document a year of my life in photographs, but Tom feels that it's ridiculous to upload really rubbish photos just because you had to take a photo that day (and the rubbish one is all that you have). He would like me to upload my 'good' photographs that I already have stored on my laptop, almost like a mini portfolio. One way round this I guess is to have two calenders on the go, one for 1 photo a day and the other to show off a little. Do I have 365 good photos?! Guess I will have to have a look and see.

Finally
I have finally managed to hang my free print! Somehow managed to get it stuck to the wall all by myself and it looks straight. Only have 2 more to mount and print.
I still have prints left from my exhibition, am finding it harder to find good homes for them than I originally thought.

Uploaded photos
Have finally put my exhibition photos onto Facebook, we will now see what interest they get there. I am hoping to sell a few (it not all) prints.
In case somehow you managed to find yourself here, and missed the photos on my profile, here they are again.

The prints received very good verbal reviews during the exhibition. I am pleased with the results, someone asked me how many years work I had presented. It was nothing like a years work, two months work at most. So, I do wonder what I could achieve if I keep these photos going for a year. I most certainly would like to head back to South Bank in London, get to know some graffiti artists and even look at graffiti removal to add a slightly different aspect to it all.
Now, time to think about what to do next
(Also, let me know if you would like a copy of any of these prints)
